Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment released Back to the Future Part II in November 1989, reuniting director Robert Zemeckis and writer Bob Gale with the cast of their 1985 phenomenon. Expanding the original film's mythology across three time periods, the sequel became one of the defining science fiction comedies of its era and remains a touchstone of late-1980s Hollywood filmmaking.

These three frames capture Biff Tannen posed before the illuminated marquee of Biff Tannen's Pleasure Paradise, the garish casino empire he built in the alternate 1985 timeline. The repeated composition across all three frames gives the cell a portrait-like quality, placing Biff squarely within the corrupted world his older self engineered.
