FILM NOTES

Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment released Back to the Future Part II in November 1989, reuniting director Robert Zemeckis and writer Bob Gale with the cast of their 1985 blockbuster. The sequel expanded the franchise's time-travel mythology across three distinct eras, and its vision of 2015 became a cultural touchstone. Shooting on 35mm, the production achieved a visual density that has made individual frames genuinely rewarding artifacts.

This cell captures the marquee of Biff Tannen's Pleasure Paradise Casino and Hotel, the garish monument to power that defines the film's darkest alternate timeline. Three consecutive frames hold Biff Tannen's neon portrait illuminated against the sign, preserving a single sustained moment from one of the sequel's most visually striking sequences.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading in partnership with National Film Vault, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
