FILM NOTES

Back to the Future Part II arrived in November 1989 from Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment, directed by Robert Zemeckis. Filmed back-to-back with Part III, it pushed the boundaries of practical effects and production design, transporting audiences to the then-distant 2015 and back to the events of the original film. It remains a landmark of late-eighties studio filmmaking and a defining chapter in one of cinema's most beloved trilogies.

This cell captures Marty and Doc in what appears to be an interior stage environment, likely amid the film's elaborate set work. Electronic equipment is visible in the lower frame, consistent with the technological atmosphere surrounding Doc throughout the picture. The three adjacent frames show nearly identical compositions, with a subtle lens flare artifact distinguishing the third — a quiet reminder of the photochemical nature of 35mm production.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading in partnership with National Film Vault, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
