FILM NOTES

Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment released Back to the Future Part II in November 1989, reuniting director Robert Zemeckis and writer Bob Gale for the long-awaited continuation of their 1985 phenomenon. Shooting back-to-back with Part III, the production pushed practical and optical effects to their limits while imagining 2015 with genuine wit. The film remains a defining artifact of late-eighties Hollywood ambition.

This cell, titled Marty and Doc, captures three frames from a continuous interior shot featuring Dr. Emmett Brown and Marty McFly together in a dimly lit setting, equipment or controls visible in the background. The repeated framing across all three panels gives the strip an almost meditative quality, preserving a quiet moment between the saga's two central figures on original 35mm.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading in partnership with National Film Vault, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
