Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment released Back to the Future Part II in November 1989, reuniting director Robert Zemeckis and writer Bob Gale with the cast of their 1985 blockbuster. The sequel expanded the franchise's scope dramatically, sending its characters into a then-imagined 2015 and back to the events of the original film. Shot on 35mm by cinematographer Dean Cundey, it remains a landmark of late-1980s studio filmmaking and popular science fiction.
This cell, titled Dr. Emmett "Doc" Brown, captures the inventor in a dimly lit interior environment, his long coat visible against a backdrop of equipment and consoles. Red signage is partially visible in the upper frame across the three-panel sequence. Christopher Lloyd's Doc Brown anchors the composition throughout, the low-key lighting and surrounding machinery reinforcing the character's enduring association with elaborate, shadowy workspaces.
