FILM NOTES

Back to the Future Part II arrived from Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment in November 1989, the middle chapter of Robert Zemeckis and Bob Gale's trilogy. Following the massive success of the original, the sequel pushed its time-travel premise into an elaborately designed future and an alternate 1985, demanding unprecedented practical and optical effects work. It remains a landmark of late-1980s studio filmmaking and popular imagination.

This cell, titled Marty and Doc, captures three consecutive frames from a continuous interior shot, preserving a brief shared moment between the film's two central figures. The overhead lighting and textured flooring suggest a constructed set environment. The inverted orientation, noted during scanning on the lightbox, is consistent with standard 35mm strip handling and does not affect the integrity of the original image.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading in partnership with National Film Vault, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
