Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment released Back to the Future Part II in November 1989, continuing one of the decade's most beloved science-fiction comedies. Directed by Robert Zemeckis, the sequel sent audiences forward to the then-distant October 21, 2015, and became a cultural touchstone for its imaginative vision of the future.
