FILM NOTES

Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment released Back to the Future Part II in November 1989, reuniting director Robert Zemeckis and writer Bob Gale for the long-awaited continuation of their 1985 phenomenon. Filming back-to-back with Part III, the sequel pushed practical and optical effects to their limits, depicting 2015, an alternate 1985, and a return to the events of the original film. It remains a defining entry in the science fiction comedy genre and a landmark of late-1980s Hollywood filmmaking.

This cell, titled Jennifer, Marty and Doc, captures Marty McFly, Jennifer Parker, and Dr. Emmett Brown together outdoors near the DeLorean, consistent with the film's opening departure sequence. One frame features the distinctive blue-white electrical arcs of the flux effect against a dark background, while the remaining two frames show the three characters in the same outdoor setting, offering a rare grouping of the film's central trio at the threshold of their journey.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading in partnership with National Film Vault, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
