FILM NOTES

Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment released Back to the Future Part II in November 1989, reuniting director Robert Zemeckis and writer Bob Gale with the cast of their 1985 blockbuster. The sequel expanded the franchise's time-travel mythology across three eras, and its vision of 2015 became a cultural touchstone. Shooting on 35mm, cinematographer Dean Cundey brought the same visual warmth to the future sequences that had defined the original.

This cell, titled George and Lorraine, captures a domestic interior from the film's 2015 timeline. Across three consecutive frames, Jeffrey Weissman as George McFly and Lea Thompson as Lorraine Baines McFly appear alongside Michael J. Fox as Marty McFly Sr., gathered around a Master-Cook appliance. The repeated framing across the strip offers a rare, sustained look at this quietly pivotal household scene.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading in partnership with National Film Vault, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
