Back to the Future Part II arrived in November 1989 from Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment, directed by Robert Zemeckis. Picking up the instant its predecessor ended, the film carried audiences forward to 2015 and backward into an altered 1955, cementing the trilogy as one of Hollywood's most ambitious popular entertainments of the decade.
