FILM NOTES

Back to the Future Part II arrived in November 1989 from Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment, directed by Robert Zemeckis. Shot back-to-back with Part III, it pushed Hollywood's approach to practical effects and production design into ambitious new territory, imagining 2015 with a density of detail that rewarded repeated viewing. The film performed strongly at the box office and remains a touchstone of late-1980s studio filmmaking.

This three-frame consecutive sequence captures Marty McFly within an interior setting, his reddish-brown jacket placing him squarely within the film's recognizable visual language. The continuity across all three frames preserves a single uninterrupted moment from the production, offering a rare window into the layered mechanical and set design that defined the world Zemeckis built around his central character.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading in partnership with National Film Vault, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
