FILM NOTES

Back to the Future Part II was released by Universal Pictures in November 1989, directed by Robert Zemeckis and produced by Steven Spielberg's Amblin Entertainment. Filmed back-to-back with Part III, it pushed the boundaries of practical effects and production design, imagining 2015 with hoverboards, self-lacing shoes, and layered visual storytelling. The film remains a landmark of late-1980s blockbuster filmmaking and a defining chapter in one of Hollywood's most beloved trilogies.

This encapsulated cell captures Marty McFly in an outdoor setting among other figures, with what appears to be a vehicle or prop visible nearby. Drawn from three consecutive frames of a single continuous take, the cell preserves a genuine moment of on-set action featuring the film's central character in a recognizable suburban environment.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading in partnership with National Film Vault, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
