FILM NOTES

Back to the Future Part II arrived from Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment in November 1989, following the massive success of the original film. Directed by Robert Zemeckis, it pushed the time-travel premise into bold new territory, depicting a vision of 2015 that became one of cinema's most discussed futures. Shot back-to-back with Part III, the production represented a significant industrial achievement and cemented the trilogy's place in popular culture.

This cell, titled Marty and Doc, captures a tight sequence of continuous action in which a figure in a red-orange top leans over and examines a piece of equipment in a dark, cluttered interior. The three frames preserve a brief, unbroken moment from the film's working world of gadgetry and invention.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading in partnership with National Film Vault, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
