FILM NOTES

Back to the Future Part II arrived from Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment in November 1989, riding the enormous goodwill of its predecessor while pushing into bolder, more satirical territory. Its vision of 2015 became a cultural touchstone, and the film cemented the trilogy as one of Hollywood's most beloved science-fiction franchises. Shooting on 35mm gave the production a richness that holds up across decades of scrutiny.

This three-frame sequence captures Mr. Strickland amid what appears to be a barn or workshop environment, likely in proximity to the film's central mechanical apparatus. The consecutive frames offer a rare sense of motion frozen in place, preserving a quiet, functional moment for a character whose stern presence threads through the entire trilogy.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading in partnership with National Film Vault, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
