Lionsgate released The Punisher in April 2004, adapting Marvel's long-running vigilante comic for a post-9/11 audience hungry for morally complicated action. Directed by Jonathan Hensleigh and starring Thomas Jane in the title role, the film leaned into practical stunts and location shooting in Tampa, Florida, earning a devoted cult following despite mixed reviews. It remains a notable entry in the early wave of Marvel adaptations before the studio system consolidated around shared universes.
The Bridge Burnout Pontiac GTO cell captures a high-contrast moment of silhouette and shadow, the figure rendered almost abstract against a bright background across three successive frames. The slight positional shift between frames suggests motion within a single continuous shot, preserving a fragment of the film's characteristically stark visual language in 35mm.
