Lionsgate released The Punisher in April 2004, bringing Marvel's most uncompromising vigilante back to screens after a long absence. Directed by Jonathan Hensleigh and starring Thomas Jane, the film leaned into gritty, practical action filmmaking at a moment when superhero cinema was still finding its footing. It occupies a distinct place in the Marvel adaptation timeline, predating the studio system that would later define the genre.

This cell, titled Frank Castle - Armed, captures the character mid-action in a low-angle outdoor shot, the frame looking upward as he raises his weapon. Three consecutive frames from the same moment give the cell a sense of frozen motion, preserving a quiet, purposeful instant from one of the film's more atmospheric sequences.
