FILM NOTES

Lionsgate Films released The Punisher in April 2004, adapting Marvel's long-running vigilante comic for a post-9/11 audience hungry for morally complicated action. Directed by Jonathan Hensleigh, the film leaned into its Tampa locations and a grounded, revenge-driven tone that distinguished it from the superhero films dominating the period. It remains a notable entry in the early wave of Marvel properties finding their footing outside the major studios.

This cell, titled Howard Saint and Quentin Glass, captures a charged interior exchange between the two men in what appears to be an upscale private setting. The venetian blinds and warm ambient light frame a moment of close physical proximity held across three consecutive frames, suggesting a scene of quiet confrontation or intimacy between the film's two figures of criminal authority.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading in partnership with National Film Vault, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
