Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas was released by Touchstone Pictures in October 1993, produced through Burton's collaboration with director Henry Selick and Disney. The stop-motion animated feature brought a distinctly gothic sensibility to mainstream family cinema and has since become one of the most enduring cult films of its decade, celebrated for Danny Elfman's score and its handcrafted visual artistry.

This cell, titled Oogie Boogie, captures the film's primary villain in close profile across three sequential frames. Oogie Boogie's distinctive burlap texture reads clearly against the dark background, while the warm casino lighting and glimpses of the yellow roulette wheel from his underground lair anchor the frames firmly within his memorable gambling den sequence.
