Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas was released by Touchstone Pictures in October 1993, produced through Burton's collaboration with director Henry Selick and composer Danny Elfman. Shot entirely in stop-motion animation, the film represented a landmark in the technique's theatrical ambitions and established an aesthetic that has remained culturally persistent for over three decades.

This cell captures Oogie Boogie suspended above his signature roulette wheel lair, the frame saturated in the character's signature palette of deep blue and gold. The composition places Oogie Boogie at the center of his domain, the spinning environment beneath him reinforcing his role as the film's most theatrically sinister presence.
