Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas was released by Touchstone Pictures in October 1993, produced through Burton's collaboration with director Henry Selick and Skellington Productions. The film brought stop-motion animation to mainstream audiences with unusual ambition, blending musical theatre, gothic imagery, and genuine emotional weight. Its success helped reestablish stop-motion as a viable theatrical format and earned the production lasting cultural recognition well beyond its initial holiday season release.

This cell, titled The Mayor, captures the Mayor of Halloween Town mid-sequence alongside Mr. Hyde, preserving consecutive frames from what reads as a presentation or performance moment.
