The Nightmare Before Christmas arrived in October 1993 under the Touchstone Pictures banner, produced by Tim Burton and directed by Henry Selick. The stop-motion animated feature represented a landmark in the craft, requiring years of painstaking frame-by-frame puppet animation and establishing a visual language that influenced the medium for decades.
