Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas was released by Touchstone Pictures in October 1993, produced through Burton's collaboration with director Henry Selick and Skellington Productions. The stop-motion feature represented a landmark in the form, requiring years of painstaking frame-by-frame animation and establishing a visual language that has remained influential across animation and popular culture for three decades.

This encapsulated cell, titled Santa Jack, presents three consecutive 35mm frames from what appears to be the Christmas Eve delivery sequence. Each frame shows Jack Skellington dressed in his Santa costume, the flowing red cape catching the purple-lit atmosphere of the cracked wall backdrop. The consecutive nature of the frames offers a rare glimpse into the incremental movement that defines stop-motion craft.
