Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas was released by Touchstone Pictures in October 1993, produced through Burton's collaboration with director Henry Selick and composer Danny Elfman. The stop-motion animated feature arrived at a moment when the medium was rarely attempted at feature length, and its distinctive gothic aesthetic established a visual language that has remained culturally persistent for over three decades.

This cell, titled Santa Jack, captures Jack Skellington within the Oogie Boogie lair sequence, where the character is shown entangled among ropes against the setting's characteristic red framework and deep purple atmosphere. The three continuous frames preserve a single sustained moment from one of the film's most dramatically charged passages, offering a focused portrait of the central figure at a point of genuine narrative tension.
