Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas was released by Touchstone Pictures in October 1993, produced through Burton's collaboration with director Henry Selick and stop-motion studio Skellington Productions. The film marked a turning point for feature animation, demonstrating that the medium could sustain a genuinely dark, gothic sensibility for mainstream audiences. Its handcrafted aesthetic, built frame by painstaking frame, gave the production an intimacy that distinguished it sharply from the era's computer-assisted work.

This cell, titled The Halloween Town Band, captures three consecutive frames from the band's performance sequence, preserving the dark stage atmosphere that defines the scene. Visible in the frames are the Accordion Player voiced by L. Peter Callender, the Sax Player voiced by Greg Proops, and the Bass Player voiced by Randy Crenshaw, caught mid-performance against the shadowed Halloween Town backdrop.
