Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas was released by Touchstone Pictures in October 1993, produced through Burton's collaboration with director Henry Selick and composer Danny Elfman. The stop-motion animated feature arrived at a moment when the medium was rarely attempted at feature length, and its success helped establish a lasting appetite for handcrafted animation in mainstream cinema. The film remains a defining work of the decade.

This cell, titled Halloween Town Citizens, captures the Mayor of Halloween Town, the Tall Witch, and the Werewolf assembled in the darkened, lantern-lit square familiar from the film's early gathering sequences, with large decorative monster figures looming in the background. The three frames present subtle variations in composition, offering a quiet record of the meticulous frame-by-frame craft that defines the production.
