FILM NOTES

Pokémon: The First Movie arrived in North American theaters in November 1999, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures as an extension of the global phenomenon that had overtaken television, trading cards, and playgrounds alike. Produced by OLM, Inc. and 4Kids Entertainment, the film marked the franchise's theatrical debut and remains a defining artifact of late-1990s pop culture crossover.

This cell, confirmed by the operator as Ancient Mew Fossil, captures a heavily degraded frame in warm amber and golden tones with pronounced vertical streaking across the emulsion. The audio track waveform is visible along the strip's lower edge. The abstracted texture and loss of image clarity give the frame an almost geological quality, fitting for a title evoking something ancient and preserved.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
