FILM NOTES

Pokémon: The First Movie arrived in North American theaters in November 1999, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures as an extension of the global phenomenon that had swept television, trading cards, and playgrounds alike. Produced by OLM, Inc. for Nintendo and Game Freak, the film marked the franchise's theatrical debut and became a defining cultural moment for an entire generation of young audiences, grossing over 160 million dollars domestically.

This cell captures Pikachu during the film's emotional climax, the small electric Pokémon rendered in visible anguish, tears streaking down his face against a darkened background. His distinctive lightning-bolt tail anchors the composition. It is a quiet, unguarded frame of one of animation's most recognized characters at his most vulnerable.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
