FILM NOTES

Pokémon: The First Movie arrived in North American theaters in November 1999, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures as an adaptation of the globally dominant Nintendo and Game Freak franchise. Produced by OLM, Inc. and directed by Kunihiko Yuyama, the film represented the peak of late-1990s Pokémon cultural saturation and remains a significant artifact of that era's animation and merchandising landscape.

This cell, titled Mew by the operator, captures Mewtwo mid-motion against a deep purple background, the character's long curling tail sweeping through the frame. The monochromatic palette places the image within the film's climactic battle arena sequence, a visually distinctive passage that has made individual frames from this section particularly sought after among animation collectors.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
