FILM NOTES

Pokémon: The First Movie arrived in North American theaters in November 1999, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures following its original 1998 Japanese release from Toho. Produced by OLM, Inc. and based on Nintendo and Game Freak's global phenomenon, the film marked the first theatrical feature for the franchise and became a defining cultural moment for an entire generation of young audiences.

This cell captures Mew drifting through a swirling field of purple and pink clouds, body extended and long tail trailing behind. As one of the most mythologized creatures in the Pokémon universe, Mew's presence in the film carries significant narrative weight, and this frame preserves that quiet, otherworldly quality in original 35mm photographic material.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
