Pokémon: The First Movie arrived in North American theaters in November 1999, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures as a co-production with OLM, Inc. and 4Kids Entertainment. Adapted from the beloved Nintendo franchise at the height of Pokémon's cultural dominance, the film became a landmark moment in anime's mainstream crossover into Western cinema, drawing record opening weekends and introducing a generation of young audiences to theatrical animation from Japan.

This cell, titled Team Rocket by the operator, captures the trio suspended within the dark, circular void of the teleportation sequence transporting characters to New Island. The deep blue arc lighting and weightless composition are immediately recognizable to fans, making this a visually distinctive frame from one of the film's most atmospheric passages.
