FILM NOTES

Pokémon: The First Movie arrived in North American theaters in November 1999, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures following its original 1998 Japanese release by Toho. Produced by OLM, Inc. and based on the globally dominant Nintendo franchise, the film marked the first theatrical feature in the Pokémon animated series and became a significant cultural moment for an entire generation of young audiences.

This cell captures Charizard in a dramatic close-up, jaws open and claws engaged, gripping white fabric against a dark background. The low angle and sequential nature of the two frames suggest an action sequence, preserving the raw energy of hand-drawn animation characteristic of late-1990s Japanese theatrical production.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
