FILM NOTES

Pokémon: The First Movie arrived in North American theaters in November 1999, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures as the theatrical culmination of the franchise's explosive late-1990s cultural moment. Produced by OLM, Inc. for Nintendo and Game Freak, the film brought the animated television series to the big screen and became one of the highest-grossing anime films released in the West at that time, cementing Pokémon's place in popular culture.

This cell captures Charizard mid-attack, a bright energy beam or fire blast directed downward against a dark background, with an adjacent frame showing the same pose at a slightly different point in the animation cycle. The pairing offers a rare side-by-side glimpse into the hand-drawn sequential movement that defined the film's production.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
