FILM NOTES

Pokémon: The First Movie arrived in North American theaters in November 1999, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures following its original 1998 Japanese release by Toho. Produced by OLM, Inc. and based on the global phenomenon that had reshaped children's entertainment, the film marked the franchise's theatrical debut and became one of the highest-grossing anime films released in the West at that time.

This cell, titled Pikachu, presents a close-up of the series' iconic central character lying against a blue background, eyes cast upward in a quiet, contemplative moment. The two adjacent frames show Pikachu in nearly identical poses with subtle positional variation, a natural artifact of sequential animation. The character's voice, supplied by Ikue Ōtani, defined Pikachu across the franchise's earliest years.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
