FILM NOTES

Pokémon: The First Movie arrived in North American theaters in November 1999, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures following its original 1998 Japanese release by Toho. Produced by OLM, Inc. and based on the global phenomenon from Nintendo and Game Freak, the film marked the first theatrical feature in the Pokémon franchise and became a defining cultural moment for an entire generation of young audiences.

This cell captures Charizard in a dramatic downward-firing sequence, photographed from below with jaws open wide and a powerful blast descending against a dark background. Across three frames of 35mm animation, the beam shifts subtly in shape, preserving a brief but kinetic moment from one of the franchise's most iconic and enduring Pokémon.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
