FILM NOTES

Pokémon: The First Movie was released in North America in November 1999, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures following its 1998 Japanese debut from Toho. Produced by OLM, Inc. and based on the global phenomenon from Nintendo and Game Freak, the film marked the franchise's theatrical debut and became one of the highest-grossing animated films of its year, cementing Pokémon's cultural footprint beyond television.

This cell, titled Mew And Pokemon Friends, captures a tense moment from what appears to be the clone confrontation or battle arena sequence. Mewtwo dominates the foreground while Gyarados, Scyther, Nidoqueen, and Ninetales are visible across the three frames, each exposed slightly differently, offering a layered look at one of the film's most dramatic passages.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
