FILM NOTES

Pokémon: The First Movie arrived in North American theaters in November 1999, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures as an extension of the franchise that had already reshaped children's entertainment worldwide. Produced by OLM, Inc. for Nintendo and Game Freak, the film marked the first theatrical outing for the property and drew record opening-weekend audiences, cementing Pokémon's crossover from television and trading cards into cinema.

This cell, titled Mew, captures the film's central confrontation in three frames: a close-up of Mew against a purple background facing left, a close-up of Mewtwo with arm raised against the same field, and a wider shot revealing Mew's full body. Together the frames document the visual language of the film's climactic sequence.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
