FILM NOTES

Pokémon: The First Movie arrived in North American theaters in November 1999, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures and produced by OLM, Inc. for Nintendo and Creatures Inc. Adapted from the globally dominant Game Boy franchise, the film marked the height of late-1990s Pokémon mania and became the highest-grossing traditionally animated film of that year in the United States, cementing the franchise's cultural reach beyond television and games.

This cell carries the confirmed title Pikachu and presents the series' most recognizable character suspended in mid-air, rendered against an open blue sky with the electric aura and lightning discharge that define the character's signature ability. Three consecutive frames capture the same charged moment, offering a rare sequential look at the animation's energy effects in their original photochemical form.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
