FILM NOTES

Pokémon: The First Movie arrived in North American theaters in November 1999, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures as an extension of the global phenomenon that had swept television, trading cards, and video games throughout the late 1990s. Produced by OLM, Inc. for Nintendo and Game Freak, the film represented a landmark moment in anime's crossover into mainstream Western cinema, drawing enormous audiences and cementing Pokémon as a defining cultural force of its generation.

This cell captures Mew suspended within a luminous purple energy sphere, encircled by violet flames against a deep, darkened background. The image reflects one of the film's quieter yet visually striking moments, presenting the legendary Pokémon in an almost ethereal state that underscores its mythic status within the story.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
