FILM NOTES

Pokémon: The First Movie arrived in North American theaters in November 1999, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures as a companion to the peak of the global Pokémon phenomenon. Produced by OLM, Inc. for Nintendo and Game Freak, the film marked the franchise's theatrical debut and remains a cultural touchstone of late-1990s animation, drawing on the television series while expanding its mythology around themes of identity and creation.

This cell captures Mew suspended within a luminous purple aura against a deep, darkened background, drawn across three sequential frames that record the subtle drift of the creature's movement through the glowing orb. The progression gives the cell a quiet, almost meditative quality, preserving one of the film's most visually distinctive moments.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
