FILM NOTES

Pokémon: The First Movie arrived in North American theaters in November 1999, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures following its original Japanese release the prior year. Produced by OLM, Inc. for Nintendo and Game Freak, the film marked the franchise's theatrical debut and became a cultural milestone, drawing audiences who had grown up with the Game Boy games and animated series.

This cell, titled Pikachu, captures the beloved electric-type Pokémon suspended in mid-air across three sequential frames, each showing a distinct phase of an electrical discharge. The bolt configurations shift subtly from frame to frame, preserving a rare sense of motion. The blue sky and radiating purple-white energy give the sequence a striking visual intensity characteristic of the film's animation style.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
