FILM NOTES

Pokémon: The First Movie arrived in North American theaters in November 1999, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures following its original 1998 Japanese release by Toho. Produced by OLM, Inc. and 4Kids Entertainment, the film marked the first theatrical feature for the globally dominant Pokémon franchise and remains a defining artifact of late-1990s animation and pop culture crossover.

This cell, titled Blastoise Clone, presents a close-up profile sequence of the cloned Blastoise within Mewtwo's darkened battle arena, rendered in the characteristic purple-tinted lighting of that confrontation. The three-frame progression captures subtle animation movement, offering a rare look at the clone's isolated presence during one of the film's most visually distinctive sequences.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
