FILM NOTES

Pokémon: The First Movie arrived in North American theaters in November 1999, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures as a co-production with OLM, Inc. and 4Kids Entertainment. Adapted from the long-running Nintendo franchise at the height of Pokémon's cultural saturation, the film drew enormous box office returns and remains a defining artifact of late-1990s animation and licensed media.

This cell captures Mewtwo in fluid motion against a deep blue background across three continuous frames, with the strip oriented in an inverted position relative to the sprocket holes. The sequence conveys the character's characteristic weightlessness and power. As the confirmed title subject, Mewtwo anchors this piece as a direct representation of the film's central figure.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
