FILM NOTES

Pokémon: The First Movie arrived in North American theaters in November 1999, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures following its original 1998 Japanese release from Toho. Produced by OLM, Inc. and based on the globally dominant Nintendo franchise, the film represented a cultural milestone as the theatrical debut of the Pokémon animated universe, drawing record audiences and cementing the property's crossover from television and trading cards into cinema.

This cell captures Mew across four sequential frames, each showing the legendary Pokémon floating against a deep purple and violet glowing background. The slight positional shifts between frames preserve a genuine sense of fluid motion, offering a rare window into the hand-drawn animation process that brought one of the franchise's most iconic and elusive creatures to the theatrical screen.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
