Pokémon: The First Movie arrived in North American theaters in November 1999, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures as a co-production with OLM, Inc. and 4Kids Entertainment. Adapted from the Japanese original released the previous year, the film marked the peak of the late-1990s Pokémon phenomenon and stands as a notable document of anime's crossover into mainstream Western cinema.

This cell, titled Brock, Misty, Ash and Their Pokemon, captures four frames from a sustained underwater sequence rendered in deep blue tones with visible bubble effects. Ash Ketchum, Misty, and Brock appear submerged alongside Pikachu, Squirtle, and Staryu, with the group shifting position subtly across the frames. The voices of Veronica Taylor, Rachael Lillis, Eric Stuart, and Ikue Ōtani bring these characters to life throughout the film.
