FILM NOTES

Pokémon: The First Movie arrived in North American theaters in November 1999, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures as the theatrical centerpiece of the franchise's peak cultural moment. Produced by OLM, Inc. and 4Kids Entertainment, the film brought the television phenomenon to the big screen and remains a defining artifact of late-nineties animation and licensing history.

This cell, titled Venusaur Clone, captures four consecutive frames from the clone battle arena sequence, presenting the large grass-type Pokémon in close-up against a dark background. The frames document subtle positional movement across the strip, with the optical sound track visible along the lower edge of the final frame. Mewtwo's orchestrated conflict drives this sequence, making the Venusaur clone a direct product of that confrontation.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
