FILM NOTES

Pokémon: The First Movie arrived in North American theaters in November 1999, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures following its 1998 Japanese release by Toho. Produced by OLM, Inc. and 4Kids Entertainment, the film represented the peak of the late-1990s Pokémon phenomenon and stands as one of the highest-grossing traditionally animated features of its era, drawing an entirely new generation into theatrical animation.

This 35mm cell captures a sequential progression of frames featuring the Blastoise Clone and Charizard Clone within Mewtwo's cloning laboratory or battle arena environment. The orange and brown striped form with visible yellow flames occupies the foreground, while blue mechanical pipe structures frame the upper background, preserving a brief but recognizable moment from one of the film's central confrontations.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading in partnership with National Film Vault, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
