FILM NOTES

Pokémon: The First Movie arrived in North American theaters in November 1999, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures as the theatrical extension of the globally dominant Nintendo and Game Freak franchise. Produced by OLM, Inc. and 4Kids Entertainment, the film represented a cultural peak moment for the Pokémon phenomenon, drawing enormous audiences and cementing the property's crossover from television into cinema.

This cell, titled Team Rocket, captures the trio suspended within a dark circular void threaded with blue energy, consistent with the teleportation or storm sequences centered on New Island. The composition isolates the characters against pure darkness, making the swirling energy the dominant visual element and reflecting the film's more dramatic tonal ambitions.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading in partnership with National Film Vault, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
