Pokémon: The Rise of Darkrai was released in North America in 2008 by Viz Media, adapted from the Japanese theatrical feature produced by OLM, Inc. the previous year. The tenth entry in the Pokémon film series, it marked a shift toward more mythological storytelling, introducing the Sinnoh region's creation legends to international audiences and drawing on the Generation IV games that had recently reinvigorated the franchise.

This cell, confirmed as Dialga Battling, captures three successive frames of the dark-type legendary Pokémon in dynamic confrontation, rendered against a stark black field that isolates the figure with unusual graphic clarity. The sequential repositioning across the three frames preserves the kinetic rhythm of the battle sequence, offering a rare window into the hand-drawn animation principles still present within the production's pipeline.
