FILM NOTES

Warner Bros. distributed Pokemon: The First Movie in North America in November 1999, bringing the globally dominant Nintendo franchise to American theaters for the first time. Adapted from the Japanese original, the film arrived at the peak of Pokemon mania and became a cultural landmark for an entire generation of young audiences, grossing over $85 million domestically and cementing the franchise's reach beyond games and television.

This cell, titled Mewtwo by the operator, captures Mew rendered small and luminous against a deep black field, flanked by large shadowed hands that frame the character with quiet menace. The stylized purple title card beside Mew marks this as a trailer introduction moment, a fleeting but deliberate frame from a piece of promotional cinema history.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
