Pokemon: The First Movie arrived in North American theaters in November 1999, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures. Adapted from the Japanese animated phenomenon, it marked the franchise's first theatrical feature for Western audiences and became a cultural landmark of late-nineties childhood, grossing over $85 million domestically and cementing Pokemon's place in mainstream entertainment history.

This cell, titled Mew by the operator, captures a moment from the trailer's climactic confrontation sequence. Against a field of purple energy and swirling debris, the small pale figure of Mew is visible alongside the looming dark form of Mewtwo. It is a visually charged frame drawn from one of the trailer's most dramatically weighted passages.
